Five Steps to Successful Collaboration

Collaboration isn't just desirable; it's essential.

A successful project hinges on the ability of multiple stakeholders to work together in harmony. Here’s a five-step framework I use to evaluate the effectiveness of a collaboration. Each step is quite broad, but this simplicity helps keep projects on track.

Who we are

  • Jordi Biosca, a Director at Lang, firmly believes in the art of listening – to the landscape, the climate, and the client's needs, in order to create architecture that responds to and seamlessly blends with those.
  • Originally from Melbourne, Australia, Douglas Crisp joined the Lang team as a Project Leader in 2021.
  • Zac Zeller, a Project Leader at Lang, is driven by a passion for creative collaboration and a sense of belonging to the global design community.
  • Simón Campuzano, a project designer at Lang, finds joy in delving into the environments of his projects, uncovering elements that belong uniquely to each specific place.
  • Anthony draws inspiration from his upbringing in Ireland, where he was fascinated by the traditional construction methods of ringforts, round towers and castles.
  • Born and raised in Brooklyn NY, Emma joined Lang as the Studio Assistant, where her role has expanded to include assisting the Director of Interiors on numerous projects.

House Tour: A Chic Zen Home in the Woods

The décor tastes of spouses can be antagonistic. Not so the pair who commissioned Manhattan designer Magdalena Keck to complete the interiors of their young family’s weekend home in Hudson Woods, a community in Kerhonkson, N.Y. The wife craved the aesthetic of her native Japan, while the Midwestern husband gravitated toward Danish modern furniture—unusually compatible ingredients.
