our stories

Chris Junkin

Chris gravitates towards buildings that connect with green landscapes, emphasizing the importance of creating a harmonious relationship between the built environment and nature.

Watching both his grandfather and uncle work as architects and furniture makers, Chris’s passion for design began at a young age, with his uncle’s more experimental work being particularly inspiring to him.

Chris continues to practice different creative mediums beyond architecture, and is particularly interested in a unique approach he has developed, combining printmaking with laser cutting techniques.

As an architect, Chris finds inspiration in projects that allow him to connect with nature. When beginning a new project, his first instinct is always to visit the site. By immersing himself in the physical space and surroundings, he seeks to develop a deeper understanding of the site’s primary qualities, allowing him to lay a strong foundation for the following design process.

Outside of work, Chris has been an avid snowboarder for the past 30 years. He also loves to drive his son all over the East Coast for his hockey tournaments.
