The Booth House, built in 1946, was Philip Johnson’s first
residential commission, and stands as a cornerstone of
American modern architecture. Tucked away in
Bedford, NY, it predates the Glass House and set
the stage for Johnson’s lifelong exploration of light,
proportion, and simplicity. Lang Architecture is leading the full reconstruction and sensitive modernization of the Booth House — preserving its architectural integrity while preparing it for a new generation of ownership.
